Solitaire, Old Mine Cut Elongated Cushion Lab Grown Diamond, Four Claw Setting

An antique cut, made new. Broad facets and a soft, candlelit glow, held as simply as possible.

This ring features an elongated cushion laboratory grown diamond in an old mine cut, offered from 1 to 5 carats. The old mine cut is the cushion shaped forerunner of the modern brilliant, popular through the 1700s and 1800s, with a high crown, a small table and large, open facets. Where a modern cut sparkles in fine points, an old mine stone returns light in broad, slow flashes. Four slim claws hold the stone, one centred on each side, and it sits lengthways along the finger.

The band is a slim, polished 2.1mm band in 10, 14 or 18 karat yellow gold, kept deliberately plain so the stone carries the whole design.

Optically, chemically, and physically identical to mined diamonds, every stone is selected for its colour and clarity, and ships with its IGI report.
