Heritage Lifetime Care — Forever

Every Heritage & Co creation is registered in the Heritage Registry from the date of purchase, establishing a permanent provenance record for the life of the piece.

  • Heritage Registry: Lifetime serial lookup, permanent first-owner record, and transfer-event tracking. Your piece is registered from day one.
  • Heritage Authentication Service: Any owner may verify a Heritage piece by serial number and matching IGI / GRA grading report, free of charge, forever.
  • Restoration consultations: Consultations and quotes are available for the life of the piece. Restoration work is carried out at cost.

Complimentary Services — 10 Years from Delivery

The following services are provided free of charge for ten (10) years from the original date of delivery:

  • Annual ultrasonic clean and polish (in-house, free)
  • Rhodium re-plating on white gold pieces every three (3) years (free)

Services are available by appointment at Heritage & Co.

Stone Replacement at Cost

For accidental stone loss not caused by a manufacturing defect, Heritage & Co will replace the stone at the original supplier cost plus a setting fee. This service is available for the life of the piece.

1. Defect Warranty Coverage

Heritage & Co warrants each creation against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twenty (20) years from the original date of purchase, when purchased through an official Heritage & Co channel.

This warranty applies solely to defects arising from faulty craftsmanship or material failure. It does not constitute a guarantee against normal wear, accidental damage, or improper use. This warranty is offered in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory rights the consumer may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa).

2. Manufacturing Defects Covered

This warranty covers manufacturing defects, including but not limited to:

  • Stone loosening from setting failure
  • Prong, bezel, or channel failure
  • Casting flaws affecting structural integrity
  • Clasp failure (necklaces, bracelets, bangles)

Where a covered defect is confirmed, Heritage & Co will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the creation at no charge.

3. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, thinning of metal, or fading of finishes
  • Rhodium plating wear on white gold
  • Accidental damage or physical impact
  • Loss or theft of the creation or any component
  • Misuse, negligence, or improper handling
  • Repairs, resizing, modifications, or alterations performed by any party other than Heritage & Co
  • Damage caused by chemicals, chlorine, saltwater, gym activity, or extreme heat
  • Improper storage or cleaning methods
  • Force majeure events, including fire, flood, or natural disasters

Stone loss is covered only where demonstrably caused by a manufacturing defect.

4. Proof of Warranty

Warranty service requires:

  • Valid proof of purchase (order confirmation or invoice)
  • The engraved serial code present on the creation

Heritage & Co reserves the right to decline warranty service where proof of purchase or the serial code cannot be provided.

5. Warranty Eligibility & Transfer

This warranty is transferable. The original first-owner registration is permanent and never reassigned, forming a permanent provenance record. When a piece changes hands, the new owner is added as a transfer event and all Care and Defect coverage transfers with the piece.

To transfer coverage: both the seller and the new owner submit a transfer form to heritage@heritageandco.co.za. Heritage verifies the secret authentication code and updates the current-owner record. The creation must have been purchased through an official Heritage & Co channel.

6. Geographic Scope

Warranty service is primarily available within South Africa. International warranty claims are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to prior approval by Heritage & Co.

For approved international claims:

  • The client is responsible for inbound shipping costs and any customs or import duties
  • Heritage & Co will cover return shipping upon completion of approved warranty service

7. Shipping & Handling

For approved warranty repairs:

  • The client is responsible for shipping the creation to Heritage & Co using a registered, insured courier
  • Heritage & Co will cover return shipping to the client upon completion of approved warranty service

Heritage & Co is not responsible for loss or damage occurring during inbound shipping.

8. Assessment & Resolution

All warranty claims are subject to inspection and assessment by Heritage & Co. Where a defect is confirmed, Heritage & Co will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the creation. Where the issue falls outside warranty coverage, Heritage & Co will provide a written assessment and a cost estimate for the repair.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heritage & Co's total liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the creation. Heritage & Co shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of use, loss of value, emotional distress, or incidental costs.

10. Governing Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where applicable. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
