The Best Ways to Find Her Ring Size Without Her Knowing
1. Borrow One of Her Existing Rings
The most reliable method. Borrow a ring she wears regularly on her ring finger (left hand, third finger) and take it to a jeweller — or trace the inner circle on paper and measure the diameter. A ring worn on the right ring finger is often a different size, so check which finger she wears existing rings on.
2. Ask Someone She Trusts
A best friend, her sister, or her mother will often know — or be willing to find out without blowing the secret. This works better than you'd expect; people close to her have likely had the conversation about rings before.
3. Use Household Items
If she's left a ring lying around, you can roll it along a ruler: the distance one full rotation covers equals the circumference. Divide by π (3.14) to get the diameter in millimetres, which maps to a ring size. Not as accurate as a physical measurement, but gets you to the right neighbourhood.
4. Order a Common Size
If all else fails, the most common ring sizes for women in South Africa are Size N–P (AU/UK) or approximately 54–57mm circumference. This is the range that covers the majority of ring fingers — order in the middle of this range, and there's a reasonable probability of it fitting. If it doesn't, it's resized.
